Mediation Coach
Practice the hard conversation before you have it.
Mediations and co-parenting calls go sideways in the first ninety seconds — one barb, and you're reacting instead of thinking. Mediation Coach lets you rehearse it first: the AI plays the mediator and the other parent, and when you're in a conversation you're allowed to run, it feeds you calm, clear things to actually say.
Behavioral coaching, not legal advice. Rehearse as much as you want — the other parent never has to join.
What it does
Walk in steady, because you've already been here.
The other side is unpredictable; your half doesn't have to be. Mediation Coach turns "I hope I don't lose it" into a conversation you've practiced until it's almost boring.
Practice mode that plays both seats
The AI role-plays the mediator and the other parent, so you can run the whole exchange before it's real. Auto mode alternates turns and waits for you — it feels like being in the room, minus the stakes.
"What to say," not vague advice
A live panel offers calm, verbatim, de-escalating lines — the actual next sentence, ready to use. Say one as written when you freeze, or let it steer you toward your own steadier words.
A flow knob you control
Turn the coaching up when you're stuck, down when you've found your footing. A 1–10 dial sets how much the coach offers and how relevant a line has to be before it speaks up.
Coaching that knows the room
Tell it who you're facing — just the mediator, or the other parent in the room too — and the guidance reshapes itself for that setting and that audience.
A transcript you can look back on
In conversations you're permitted to capture, your words and theirs are transcribed and labelled by speaker as you go — so afterward you can see exactly what was said, not just what you remember.
Hear the lines out loud
Practice mode can speak its parts in a natural voice, so rehearsing feels less like reading a script and more like actually saying the hard thing — and hearing it said back to you.
How it works
Rehearse until the real thing feels like a rerun.
-
Set the scene
Tell Mediation Coach who you'll be talking to and what it's about — the parenting schedule, an exchange that keeps blowing up, an upcoming session. It tailors both the role-play and the live coaching to that.
-
Run it, as many times as you need
Practice the conversation against the AI. Hear the barb you're dreading, answer it without heat, and try again until your half comes out calm on the first take.
-
Walk in as the steadier person
On the day, keep the coach beside you for conversations you're allowed to run — or simply bring the better-rehearsed, harder-to-rattle version of yourself you just practiced into being.
Practice freely — but don't secretly record a mediation
Court-ordered mediations and settlement conferences are confidential by law (in North Carolina, under N.C.G.S. § 50-13.1). Mediation Coach is built for preparation, rehearsal, and conversations you're legally allowed to capture — not for transcribing or recording a confidential mediation, hearing, or proceeding without the express permission of the court or mediator. Live capture is yours to start and stop; only use it where the law and your situation allow. When in doubt, ask the mediator or your attorney first.
Why it's different
You can't script the other parent. You can practice your half.
Most "co-parenting" advice is a PDF of tips you read once and forget under pressure. Mediation Coach is reps — a place to actually rehearse the moment out loud, get a calmer line when you're stuck, and build the muscle memory that holds when the real conversation turns sharp.
It coaches how you say it — never what to settle
Mediation Coach helps with tone, clarity, and staying calm and on the record. It will never tell you what to agree to, what to give up, what to argue, or what a judge will think — that's legal judgment, and software shouldn't pretend to have it. The suggestions are drafts you review and own; for advice about your case, talk to a licensed attorney.

Common questions
Mediation Coach FAQ
Can I use this to record my court-ordered mediation?
No — and please don't try. Court-ordered mediations and settlement conferences are confidential by law, and secretly recording or transcribing one can violate that confidentiality. Mediation Coach is for preparing and rehearsing beforehand, and for conversations you're legally allowed to capture. If you need something from a mediation on the record, ask the mediator or the court.
Will it tell me what to agree to or what to argue?
No. It coaches how you communicate — tone, clarity, staying composed and on the record — not legal strategy. What to settle, sign, concede, or argue is a question for a licensed attorney. The AI gives behavioral feedback only, and you review and decide everything.
Do I need the other parent to take part?
No. Practice mode plays both the mediator and the other parent itself, so you can rehearse alone, any time of day. Like the rest of Custody Commander, it delivers full value to you without the other side signing up, agreeing, or even knowing.
Won't I just sound like a robot reading a script?
Only if you want to. The suggested lines are a starting point: say them word for word when you're frozen, or use them to find your own calmer phrasing. The point of practice is that it stops sounding like a script — by the real conversation, it sounds like you on a good day.
What do I need to run it?
Live transcription uses your browser's built-in speech recognition, which works best in Chrome or Edge on a computer. Typed practice and the coaching panel work in any modern browser, so you can rehearse by typing even where live capture isn't available.
The calmest person in the room is usually the one who practiced.
