Hardship program
Full Suite, free, for a set number of months, with no card and nothing to cancel, through referral codes from domestic-violence organizations, shelters, and legal-aid offices. Enter the code when you sign up or later in Account → Plans. No code yet? Ask your advocate, or send a request from Account → Plans (or email support@firmbinder.com). We check eligibility only and never review your case. When the months end, your account returns to the free tier and nothing is deleted. This program is why the company exists.
Attorneys & advocates: always free
Your plan covers the case: storage, evidence limits and export watermarks follow your plan, whoever adds the files, and each person’s AI actions come from their own allowance. Invited attorneys and advocates get free, case-scoped logins of their own, with your case under Shared with me — and clients who arrive organized, with an evidence index, a timeline, and the issue summaries you wrote. Your attorney can keep private work-product notes on your case, stored apart from your records: you see a note only if they release it to you, and nobody else on the case ever does.

Is the free tier really free, or a trial that expires?
Really free, indefinitely: one case file with unlimited court case numbers, 10 evidence items, 1 GB of storage, full organizing and search, watermarked printable PDF export, 6 AI actions to try the tools (one-time), no credit card. It exists because the founder needed exactly this and couldn't afford anything — not as bait. Separately, a new account can try Full Suite free for 7 days (Mediation Coach excepted, 60 AI actions). The trial needs a card and continues as a paid plan unless you cancel before it ends; cancel online and you pay nothing and simply stay on the free tier.
Why subscriptions instead of buy-once?
Honest answer: AI processing costs us money every month, and a legal case is an ongoing process, so ongoing pricing matches how the product is used. But we built the buy-once options people actually want — the $49 Hearing Pass (30 days of everything, nothing renews), the one-time $39 Message Log Package and the $49 Case Closed export — and the free tier never expires.
What's the $49 Hearing Pass?
One payment of $49 for 30 days of everything in Full Suite: all five tools, the assistant, AI included, and exports without a watermark. The 30 days start the day you buy it. It isn't a subscription, so it never renews and there's nothing to cancel. When the 30 days end you're back on the free plan, and nothing you added is deleted. If you need longer, Full Suite is $24.99 a month or $199 a year.
What happens to my records if I cancel?
You can download your complete Case Bundle — every original file, a manifest with each file's SHA-256 fingerprint, and all your records — before or after canceling, free, on any plan. The one-time $49 Case Closed adds exhibit-ready PDFs without a watermark and lets you close the case: read-only, and readable and downloadable for free, forever. "Pay forever or lose your records" is the industry complaint we refuse to recreate.
What counts as an "AI operation"?
Things like extracting text from a screenshot or checking a message draft. Paid plans include a monthly pool sized so roughly nine in ten users never think about it. If you have an unusually heavy week, $5 top-up packs cover the gap — they're a fairness valve for power users, not a meter on normal use.
Do both parents have to pay?
No — only you, and only if you upgrade past free. Custody Commander works for one parent alone; the other party never needs an account, never gets notified, and never affects your pricing. Compare that with platforms charging each parent up to $299.88 per year.
Can I buy more AI if I run out?
Yes. Paid plans include a monthly pool of AI operations that covers normal use. For an unusually heavy week — like extracting the text from a big batch of screenshots — AI credit top-ups are $5 per 10-pack. They're a fairness valve, not a paywall.
What's the $49 Case Closed export?
When your case ends, pay $49 once for that case. You get the complete Case Bundle with exhibit-ready PDFs — exhibit packet volumes, each document, the message log and the evidence index, without a watermark — on top of every original file and the manifest. Then close the case: it stays read-only, and readable and downloadable for free, forever, with no subscription. Re-download any time, and reopen the case if it starts up again. Ending your subscription never means losing your records.
Do I have to pay anything for my attorney?
No. Invited attorneys and advocates always join your case free, with their own login, and see only what you share with them. There's nothing extra to buy for them. Separate client workspaces for law offices are part of our sister product for professionals, CourtBriefly.
How do I get a hardship code?
Through partner DV organizations, shelters, and legal-aid offices. If you're working with an advocate or attorney, ask them first. If you're not connected with an organization yet, create a free account and send a hardship request from Account → Plans, or email support@firmbinder.com. We check eligibility only, never your case. A code gives you Full Suite free for the months it covers, with no card.
