Plans, trial & AI operations
What's included on the free plan, during the 14-day trial, and on each paid plan — and how AI operations are counted, refilled, and topped up.
Custody Commander has a free plan that stays useful, a no-card trial of everything, and paid plans that add AI allowances. The pricing page has current prices; this page explains how the plans behave.

The single tools are Evidence Organizer, Message Analyzer, Case Builder, Comms Guard, and Mediation Coach. Organizing features — uploading, folders, tags, the timeline, to-dos, hearings, writing your own documents, binders, and exports — work on every plan, within the limits above. Paid plans unlock the AI features and remove limits and watermarks.
The 14-day trial#
- Starts automatically when you sign up. No card needed.
- Includes Evidence, Messages, Case Builder, and Comms Guard features with 30 AI operations for the whole trial. Mediation Coach isn't part of the trial.
- A banner at the top of the app shows how many days are left.
- When the trial ends without a paid plan, your account moves to the free plan. Nothing is deleted.
Trial operations are a one-time allowance — they don't refill on the 1st of the month, even if the usage meter shows a refill date.
What an AI operation is#
An AI operation is one AI action — one extraction, one draft, one question — no matter how long the file or answer is. You're never charged by the word.

Full Suite covers every feature in the table. If you hold single plans, each one adds its 40 operations to a shared monthly allowance.
How allowances are spent#
- Your monthly allowance is used first. It resets on the 1st of each month (UTC). Unused operations don't roll over.
- Purchased credits are used next. An AI Credit Pack is $5 for 10 operations; credits never expire. Buy up to 50 packs at a time from My account → AI usage.
- When both are used up, AI features pause with a message explaining how to upgrade or add credits. Everything else keeps working.
You'll see a banner when you've used 80% of your monthly allowance. To keep a runaway loop from draining your allowance, AI is limited to 20 operations per 10 minutes on every plan; if you hit it, wait a few minutes and try again.
In a shared case, AI operations count against the person using them. Evidence and storage limits follow the case owner's plan.
One-time purchases#
- Court-ready Message Log — $39. Removes the DRAFT watermark from one case's message log, for free-plan users. See Messages.
- AI Credit Pack — $5 for 10 operations that never expire.
Upgrading, cancelling, and payment problems#
All of this is covered in Account, billing & usage. In short: upgrading from a single plan to Full Suite is prorated and immediate; cancelling keeps your access until the end of the paid period; and nothing you've stored is deleted when a plan ends.
